What are the possible side effects?
Most of the side effects are mild or moderate and they will usually last less than 7 to 10 days.
The most common side effects include temporary injection site reactions such as redness, pain/ tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/ bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration.
Serious complications are extremely rare and can be managed effectively if they were to occur. In addition, the filler can be dissolved and the effects can be reversed.
After care & Downtime
- Ice can be used to help reduce swelling.
- Makeup should not be worn for 24 hours after the treatment.
- Avoid alcohol and other vigorous exercises for around 48 hours
- Any bruising may take up to a few days to appear, arnica can be very helpful in clearing bruising. It is advisable to avoid aspirin and alcohol for around 12-48 hours after the treatment.
- Tenderness should settle as swelling and bruising goes down
